The C5 whitetail hunting ranch is situated in the lush Brazos River Valley of Central Texas, a region known for fertile soils, abundant hardwood cover, and consistent water sources. This natural environment creates ideal conditions for growing healthy, mature whitetail deer while providing excellent concealment and natural travel corridors.
The Texas hunting ranch encompasses approximately five hundred acres of heavily wooded terrain with rolling hills, creek beds, and dense cover. Due to the thickness of the habitat, the property consistently hunts larger than its acreage, offering frequent deer movement and close-range, ethical shot opportunities.
The Texas hunting ranch is conveniently located approximately 20 minutes from Waco Regional Airport, with connecting flights through Dallas and Houston. Complimentary transportation is provided from:

Guests arriving by personal vehicle should plan to arrive between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM. The hunting ranch address is 4269 Hwy 6, Marlin, TX 76661, located between Riesel and Marlin. Guests receive a personal gate entry code upon arrival.
The trophy deer hunting ranch is dominated by mature hardwoods, thick understory, natural creek systems, and rolling elevation changes. These features funnel deer movement naturally and provide consistent opportunities throughout the season.
The Brazos River watershed contributes to excellent native browse, creating strong body condition and antler development across the deer herd. This Texas terrain supports both typical and non-typical whitetail bucks and encourages daylight movement during hunting hours.
Due to the dense tree canopy, the average hunting shot distance with a rifle ranges from approximately 75 yards to 100 yards, with select locations offering longer shots approaching 200 yards. Bow shots are typically 15 to 30 yards. The deer hunting ranch is designed to promote comfortable, ethical shots rather than extreme-distance shooting.

Most rifle hunts are conducted from ground-level box hunting blinds positioned near feeders. These hunting blinds are designed for comfort and safety, with excellent visibility through the natural shooting lanes created by the terrain.
Bow hunting is conducted from elevated tree stands built as sturdy deck-style platforms constructed from treated lumber and mounted 12 to 15 feet off the ground. These elevated tree stands feature railings, secure steps, and ample space to comfortably accommodate the hunter, guide, and companions.
C5 Whitetails offers handicap-accessible blinds, including a mobile ground blind with ramp access, ensuring that all hunters can enjoy a safe and rewarding hunting experience.

The hunting lodge features three private guest bedrooms; all designed as master suites with private bathrooms:
Whitetail Room: King bed and twin bed, fully handicap accessible.
Stag Room: Two queen beds with private bath.
Fallow Room: Two queen beds with private bath
All rooms include DirecTV and climate-controlled comfort. The intimate size of the hunting lodge ensures a relaxed, uncrowded stay and personalized attention throughout your hunt.

Upon arrival, guests are welcomed with true Texas hospitality and heavy hors d’oeuvres such as bacon-wrapped dates, charcuterie boards, smoked brisket queso, chips, and homemade salsa. Friday evening features a signature ribeye dinner with thick-cut, custom prime steaks grilled over an open fire, accompanied by classic sides.
Breakfasts include hearty, home-cooked meals such as homemade kolaches, eggs, bacon, biscuits, and gravy. Lunches often feature taco bars with brisket queso, rice, beans, guacamole, and fresh toppings. Saturday night’s dinner highlights a slow-smoked brisket with all traditional Texas barbecue sides.
Evenings are spent around a covered fire pit with a large-screen TV, comfortable seating, and refreshments. Hunters and guests are encouraged to relax, enjoy cigars, watch football, or unwind at their own pace. The Texas hunting lodge is truly treated as your home during your stay.
Guests arrive on Friday between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM. After settling in, a brief safety meeting and rifle confirmation at the range are conducted before heading out for the first afternoon trophy buck hunt.
Trophy buck hunts typically run from before daylight until mid-morning, then resume mid-afternoon until dark. Optional activities during midday include fishing, safari-style hunting from Polaris Rangers, or relaxing at the hunting lodge.
On the final day, guests may hunt in the morning, enjoy a late breakfast or early lunch, and depart by approximately noon.
C5 Whitetails is staffed by experienced, long-term whitetail hunting guides who have been with the ranch since its early years. These guides are trusted friends and family members with decades of combined hunting experience and a strong service-oriented mindset.
Guides handle everything from scouting and blind placement to animal recovery, photography, meat handling, and coordination with taxidermists and processors.
C5 Whitetails offers Texas whitetail deer hunts with a wide range of trophy buck scores available each season. Due to strict deer management, most harvested trophy bucks fall between 180 to 250 inches, with limited opportunities exceeding 300 inches and occasional exceptional trophies.
While specific animals may be discussed and targeted, all hunts prioritize ethical opportunity rather than guarantees. The ranch maintains a sufficient deer herd population to ensure hunters and guests consistently see multiple mature animals.
When booking a guided trophy whitetail deer hunt at a high fence preserve, whitetail buck size selection is discussed and pre-booked in advance whenever possible. Hunters and guests are shown recent game camera photos of known mature bucks within their preferred size range, and guides work diligently to target those animals during the hunt. While specific animals may be discussed and pursued, all whitetail deer remain free-ranging within a heavily wooded environment, and opportunities can vary due to natural movement, especially during the rut.
Guides provide estimated scores and pricing before any shot is taken. These estimates are binding in the guest’s favor. If a whitetail buck scores lower than estimated, the lower price applies. If it scores higher, the hunter still pays only the quoted amount. Hunters are never penalized for a guide’s mistake in estimation.
C5’s whitetail hunting packages individually price trophy whitetail bucks based on antler size, structure, and overall character. Pricing is clearly communicated prior to harvest, with no surprises after the fact.
No whitetail bucks, regardless of size, score, or antler configuration, will be priced higher than $19,000. The vast majority of harvested trophy whitetail bucks are priced between $9,000 and $12,000, all inclusive.
Typical whitetail bucks within a given size range are priced slightly higher than non-typical bucks. The more non-typical character a buck exhibits within that same range, the lower the cost tends to be.
All known mature whitetail bucks on the ranch are monitored with game cameras. Pricing is always estimated and discussed in advance by your hunt guide, ensuring complete transparency and confidence before the trigger is pulled. If we cannot put you in a position to take a trophy buck, you can come back for another trophy whitetail hunt on us!
Whitetail hunt packages include 2-night lodging, food, drinks, guide services, and all ranch activities. The only items not included are taxes and staff/guide tips.
** Guide and staff tips are typically 10% to 15% of total hunt price, or whatever you feel is deserved. Guides and staff work for tips only.
Each hunter may bring one non-hunting guest staying in the same room for an additional fee of only $500. This guest is still free to use the swimming pool, the bass fishing lake, and accompany the hunter on hunts.
In addition to trophy whitetail hunts, hunters may harvest exotic species including fallow deer, red stag, oryx, addax, aoudad, sika, sable, wildebeest, and more.
